About Placidius
Prof. Placidius Ndibalema is an Associate Professor specializing in digital media psychology and ICT pedagogical development at the University of Dodoma, Tanzania, where he completed his Ph.D. in Education in 2015, focusing on ICT and pedagogical advancement. From 2012 to 2015, he led the Department of Educational Foundations and Continuing Education at the College of Education. Prof. Ndibalema has made significant contributions to various educational projects, including serving as Co-Principal Investigator on a government-funded initiative aimed at enhancing early grade reading comprehension through e-content (2016–2018). He also served as a Principal Investigator of two projects funded by SPIDER/Stockholm University, which focused on improving literacy and numeracy in Nyarugusu Refugee Camp (2017–2020) and supporting distance learning in Tanzania (2020). Between 2021 and 2023, he was Co-Principal Investigator on a USAID-funded research project that addressed early grade social and emotional skills and phonics-based literacy. His research primarily focuses on ICT pedagogical development and digital media psychology, utilizing design-based methodologies and mixed methods for project evaluation. Prof. Ndibalema has extensive experience in basic education, digital literacy, and teacher education, and he currently serves as the central research and publications coordinator at the University of Dodoma.
