VISIT TO UDOM BY THE UNIVERSITY OF ALBERTA AND BROCK UNIVERSITY

On 1st August 2023 Prof. Florence Glanfield (Vice-Provost of the University of Alberta)(Canada) Prof. Joyce Mgombelo from Brock University (Canada) and Dr. Andrew Binde from the MoEST visited the University of Dodoma. The purpose of the visit was to reflect on the Hisabati ni Maisha prot and explore future possibilities. 

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Lughano Kusiluka, stated that the University of Dodoma is committed to working with Brock University and the University of Alberta to scale up the project to many regions and districts of Tanzania. He reaffirmed UDOM's goal to become a centre for science and math instruction in order to aid the government's initiatives to give Tanzanian children access to high-quality education.

The Hisabati ni Maisha project was a 5-year project funded by Global Affairs Canada to and implemented by the University of Alberta, Brock University (Canada) and the University of Dodoma. The project focus was to build capacity for mathematics teaching and learning in rural and remote communities in four regions of Tanzania namely, Dodoma, Singida, Iringa and Morogoro
