UDOM HOSTS VISITORS FROM PURDUE UNIVERSITY

The University of Purdue recently visited the University of Dodoma (UDOM) to provide financial year closing support for the Tanzania SEL project in 2022/2023.

During their visit, Suzanne Cyr, Assistant Director for Awards Management at the Purdue Applied Research Institute and Business Officer of LASER PULSE, along with her colleague Anna Jovanovich, had the opportunity to meet with Prof Razack Lokina, the Acting Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic, Research, and Consultancy, as well as Prof Wineaster Anderson, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Planning, Finance, and Administration. The purpose of the meeting was to introduce and discuss various opportunities available within the LASER PULSE network.

On the second day of their visit, Suzanne and Anna had the privilege of meeting with the Tanzania SEL project team and staff members from five directorates responsible for project management. These directorates included the Directorate of Research and Publication, Directorate of Finance Management, Directorate of Procurement, Directorate of Internal Audits, and Directorate of Internationalization and Convocation. The discussions primarily focused on sharing experiences related to project solicitation, project grants management, and project closeout.

To conclude their visit to UDOM, Suzanne and Anna were treated to a tour of Tarangire National Park, which was organized by the Tanzania SEL Project team.
