The University of Dodoma , school of Law students, were granted a unique opportunity to engage with distinguished experts hailing from various renowned institutions specializing in International Humanitarian Law (IHL),This extraordinary opportunity allowed our students to deepen their understanding of IHL by delving into the experiences of prominent individuals who have witnessed the application of these crucial laws in conflict-ridden regions.

The experts who graciously shared their invaluable insights include representatives from the prestigious International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Headquarters, a distinguished military Major General, a knowledgeable Legal Officer from The tanzania Ministry of Defense and security, and a respected Leader from the Force Intervention Brigade (FIB)

Through their captivating narratives and first-hand experiences, our students were able to grasp the profound impact of IHL in real-world scenarios. They acquired a comprehensive understanding of the historical context, including the founding principles, sources, and intricate details concerning the laws of armed conflict. Moreover, the experts shed light on the practical challenges and complexities associated with upholding these laws during conflicts, drawing upon their involvement in the Congo, Sudan, and other conflict zones.

This unique learning experience has undoubtedly broadened the horizons of our aspiring legal minds, equipping them with the knowledge and insight necessary to navigate the intricacies of international humanitarian law.
