About Grace

Grace Msoffe is a Senior Lecturer and Director of Library Services at the University of Dodoma (UDOM) in Tanzania. She holds a PhD in Information Science from the University of South Africa. She coordinates and facilitates information literacy training programmes for students and researchers at UDOM and nationwide. She teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students information-related subjects at UDOM. Grace has participated in several professional engagements such as development projects, research projects, consultancies, and capacity-building programmes. Her research interests include information access, information management, and the application of information and communication technologies. She mentors and leads the library staff team for over five years. Recent projects include TESCEA, Digital Access to Research Programme, and Developing LVFO Data and Information Sharing Policy. Currently, she is coordinating a Research4Life Country Connectors network project. She has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Tanzania Library Association (2016 -2022), a member of the Executive Committee of the Consortium of Tanzania University and Research Libraries (2018 – 2022), and Chair-Elect of the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) African Chapter (2021 – 2022). She is currently a Chair of the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) African Chapter (2022 – 2023) and a member of the Executive Committee of the Consortium of Tanzania University and Research Libraries (2022 – 2025).
